Does KOHO Credit Building Report to TransUnion or Equifax?

    Quick Answer

KOHO's own pages say reports to Equifax, not TransUnion.

    • KOHO's own pages say Credit Building reports to Equifax, not TransUnion.
    • KOHO says it reports your account activity to Equifax each month.
    • It isn't a credit card. KOHO says there are no deposits, hard credit checks or applications.
    • KOHO advertises Credit Building for $10 per month, with discounts on some KOHO plans.

Checked on the issuer’s own pages: October 5, 2026

KOHO's learning page is direct about this. It says Credit Building activity goes to Equifax and not to TransUnion, so it can add to your Equifax file without the same direct effect on your TransUnion report.

If a lender or landlord pulls TransUnion, they may not see your KOHO payment history. That's worth knowing before you count on it to fix a thin file at both bureaus.

Older sources, including KOHO's 2021 launch release, named TransUnion; KOHO's current learning page says Equifax only, and its help page confirms monthly Equifax reporting (checked October 19, 2026).

KOHO Credit Building isn't a card you can spend with. KOHO describes it as a small line of credit that reports to Equifax, with no deposit and no hard credit check. You pay a monthly subscription, and KOHO says discounts may be available on some of its plans.

KOHO's own blog notes that product details may have been updated since a post was published. Confirm the current price and reporting in the KOHO app before you sign up.

You can get your credit report from both Equifax and TransUnion for free. After a few months of payments, compare the two to see where your KOHO account shows up. Our free credit report guide walks through how.
